It All Starts With A Conversation

My philosophy is simple: landscapes should foster vibrant relationships and connections. At Wild Root, we’re all about helping you cultivate community while connecting with our stunning shrub-steppe environment through thoughtful design that truly resonates with you.

Complimentary Phone Call (free)

I can't wait to hear all about you. How long have you lived in the Tri-Cities? Who shares your space with you (any family members of the furry variety)? What do you love or dislike about your yard? What is your budget and are you wanting to do the work in phases? These are just a few questions I’d love to explore, but don’t worry—I won’t overwhelm you. I’m sure our conversation will flow naturally and be a delightful exchange.

I’ll definitely ask if you’re interested in native plants. This might seem silly given our company mission. While our mission is focused on creating native habitats, we also offer design services for more traditional landscaping projects, we just don't install them.

Design Consultation or Garden Coaching (paid)

Have you had some time to think about our chat? Ready to take the next step? Let’s book an appointment—I’m eager to see your property. You can find my booking calendar in the menu above, "book online". If you’re unsure whether you need garden coaching or a design consultation, check out the FAQs for guidance.

When I arrive, I'd love to walk the property with you, diving into your needs and aspirations. If you’ve hired me for coaching, feel free to record our conversation—I’ll follow up with tailored advice. For design consultations, I’ll gather measurements and photos, and we’ll discuss the design fee (see FAQs for more info). Payment is required before design work begins and all designs are created in 2D and 3D. Please see FAQs for project size requirements.

Preliminary Design Meeting

Get ready for some excitement! You’ll see your design in 3D at this meeting. I’ll explain the thought behind it and answer all your questions. The preliminary prints are yours to keep, and we’ll schedule a follow-up to gather your valuable feedback, which is essential for shaping the master plans.

Master Plans

Here comes the moment you've been waiting for! You’ll receive your official master plans, showcasing everything you need to bring your design to life—plant species, hardscape materials, and perspectives of the final design.

Cost Estimating

Let’s talk more about your budget. Wild Root provides comprehensive cost estimating for projects where we’re the general contractor. Accurate cost estimating helps us forecast expenses. While large or custom elements might require extra cost estimating fees, standard elements such as pavers, retaining walls, plants and planting beds, water features, fire pits and low-voltage outdoor lighting are included in our estimating services.

Construction

Wild Root provides general contracting for designs featuring over 50% southeastern Washington native plants. Once we sign the agreement and receive your deposit, we’ll get your project scheduled and ready to roll. We’ll coordinate with all of the important players to bring your design to life. Upon completion, we’ll provide care instructions, do a final walkthrough, and collect the final payment so you can finally enjoy the fruits of our labor!

Planting Native Plants

Native plants are the icing on the cake. We plant native species between October and November for optimal survival. Usually native plantings are coordinated separately from the rest of the construction project. If the project is finished by the end of September, native plants are usually tucked into their forever homes in the same year (subject to plant availability).

Follow-up Meeting

Your construction fee includes a one-hour follow-up meeting, available up to a year after completion. Whether you want to use it as a garden coaching session or want to brainstorm adding new structures, we’ll meet at your home to find the perfect solutions together.
