Origins & Promise

I have been playing in the Sagebrush since I was transplanted from California at the age of six. Landscape architecture was to become my chosen profession. But as my career in the landscaping industry matured, I grew dissatisfied with the status quo. Too much concrete curbing and waaaay too much boring, energy-intensive lawn. I read Last Child In The Woods and felt like the last child in the shrub-steppe. I could palpably feel the disconnect between Tri-citians and the land.

So in 2021, Wild Root was born, the only design/build firm in the Tri-cities with our distinct vision. We are singularly focused on creating fantastic outdoor spaces through an artistic approach that highlights hyper-local native plants. We teach our clients about the importance of moving away from conventional landscaping toward a greater appreciation for the natural beauty of the Columbia Basin.

I am committed to freeing you from your Saturday mowing, thatching, aerating, fertilizing, herbicide-applying, leaf-blowing chores (it might take awhile, I know). To show you the potential of your unique plot of earth. To walking alongside you as you learn to be a good steward of your land. To coaching you as your gardens evolve and mature. And to enjoying a glass of iced tea on your patio, surrounded by your cherished ecosystem, listening to the distant hum of lawn mowers.
